The Allen Institute for AI (AI2) recently unveiled its latest large language model, OLMo2 32B. AI2 has generously released all data, code, weights, and detailed training processes. This transparency sets a new standard.

Recently, the Allen Institute for AI (Ai2) released Molmo, a brand new open source multimodal AI model family that performs exceptionally well, even surpassing OpenAI's GPT-4o, Anthropic's Claude 3.5, and Google's Gemini 1.5 in several third-party benchmark tests. Molmo not only accepts user-uploaded images for analysis but has also been trained using '1000 times less data than its competitors.'

Booz Allen Hamilton has successfully deployed and operated the first generative AI large language model (LLM) on the International Space Station, marking a significant breakthrough for artificial intelligence in the field of space. This model operates using HPE's Spaceborne Computer-2 at the ISS National Laboratory, enabling the use of a powerful AI assistant to tackle complex problems and retrieve information in space without reliance on Earth's internet. The development process took only eight weeks, demonstrating the potential of AI in extreme environments.

UK legal giant Allen & Overy has launched ContractMatrix to help lawyers draft standard legal contracts. Over 1,000 lawyers are already using it, and five companies plan to trial it in January next year. Developed in collaboration with Microsoft and AI startup Harvey, the tool aims to improve lawyers' efficiency and reduce costs. It can draft non-disclosure agreements and merger contracts, and has even been used to generate the world's first 100% AI-generated contract.
